Organic Architecture is something i find very fascinating in terms of what it can offer to the society and most importantly to us as humans. It is essential to build something today with this concept in mind, since mother nature is what we built on upon. This architectural school i wanted to focus on how this complex is able to capture the surrounding environment (the campus), thus connecting students, the landscape and building-ultimately leading to the meaning of a Bridge. This school is intended to link the roundhouse to the gymnasium, encouraging innovation in one and providing health benefits in the other. Training the Mind and the Body. In this building, i used lots of glass to extend the connection between campus and students as well as a rock climbing components to further enhance this experience. Although there is not much nature to be captured, in this project the "campus" is the nature, thus that is my intention to capture and highlight it's environment.
The animation below is to demonstrate how one will perceive the model in real life environment, as well as a walk through/overview of it.
I've added an extensive of new features to the final submission, extended climbing walls, library space and more room for interactions. The mass amount use of glass and glass projecting screen is inspired from a YouTube video, "The Future of Glass Technology"
The library is where i find will be most interesting and communicative space, also a mix of quotes from famous architects are mashed into the wall. This allows a room of inspiration, and one can perceive different quotes at varied times. From the main entrance, students are able to choose three paths which with all different destination, this allows unique flow and movement from the student's choice.

The above animation shows an overview and sets the context. I chose to connect the square house to the gymnasium, and this bridge is also an architectural school. I have applied several textures, to match and explore "movement" through this building. This was based on Frank Lloyd Wright's ideology of "Organic Architecture". Although there is not much of vegetation around the site, I have shifted the focus of capturing nature to rather the University.
This school has 2 main entries, the above is the frontal and can be accessed from the back of the square house (second level) and into the heart of the new school. As i mentioned before, wall climbing is one of the schools moving element as well as exploring a unique relation formed between people and architecture. One is able to interact with people who is doing the activity and vice versa. This particular pathway explores a relationship between exterior and interior where i believe is the most interesting area of the building. Also the entry is where i think one can decide according to one's mood, feeling because these stairs or path acts as a choice of movement and i think its interesting to explore options.
Entry 2, this is the alternative way to approach this school, one is taken into the library zone. From this, one is able to view Anzac Parade in such detail and the gymnasium. Which i think it opens
opportunities for inspiration, and to encourage such process i also input quotes from famous architects (Le Corbusier, Frank Wright etc. throughout the school. This reading spaces also opens up more interaction space between students and people who is just walking back from class or about to leave.
The final movement is towards the gym, where one is directly taken to the entrance. I have shaped the tunnel in such way that suggests speed which i intent to match the purpose of this gateway. The wide facade at the bottom is not only a support, but i wanted contrast between horizontal and vertical movement from shapes (tunnels and curve facade), also there is enough room for cars to go pass. In addition people who can use this space for training, shelter.
Textures
 |
This texture was from the group (scalar translation), which i wanted to use this pattern to convey ability to move throughout space with unordinary movement. |
 |
This came from the group 'flow", which i extracted the movement of waves and combined this "shift" with the wide facade at the bottom, as if the building is flowing between horizontal to vertical. |
 |
Belong to the group "mobility", as i was trying to express in terms of relationship between space and light and how "gaps" can create a sense of movement and being mobile. As shown, 5 layers are painted with different colour, one is to capture attention and i wanted to use this eye catching as a sense of mood setting when one is approaching the building. Joyful. |
 |
This is another texture from "flow", incorporated into the mini bridge not only to emphasis the movement it is creating. As well as highlight transition between elements within the complex, thus forming a sense of flow. |

Built
in 1929, located in Poissy, Paris This piece of Architecture incorporates Le
Corbusier’s “The Five Points” which is a list of
prescribed elements to be embedded in design. These five points are Pilotis,
Flat Roof Terrace, Open Plan, Ribbon Windows and Free Façade.
|
Above
is the floorplan for the ground which I rotated it and transformed it into a
section, and modify it.
I
was asked to pick out 2 from the 6 sets of blocks, then further develop or
explore these ideas.
 |
This particular set
of 2 point perspective was redesigned based on elements from the previous
drawings. In addition, i wanted to explore interlocking between blocks and the
interacting space that it can offer.
This sets shares the same idea as the above, as
to determine the relative space it can offer.
